There are times when we wish we could just turn our heads off, right? Especially when things get hot in bed, it can help not to think about anything and just get involved with the situation. Not easy!

The thoughts of men and women differ enormously during sex. Who would have thought that?! We'll tell you what's going through your partner's head when they're having sex and what you can do if your thoughts just won't let you rest during sex.

Thoughts during sex: That's what men think!

The men's magazine Men's Health launched an online survey and came to the following conclusion: just half of all men think about their partner during sex. For 47 percent, their thoughts would wander again and again during intercourse. But don't panic ladies. After all, 44 percent of men think of their own partner. But the job also seems to play a role in bed. This is how 25 percent of men think of work. And 16 percent? They don't think about anything.

Thoughts during sex: That's what women think!

For women, the results are quite different. The women's magazine Lisa provides the results here. A full 73 percent of the women surveyed have their thoughts completely with their partner during sex. But other men also play a role in some women. At least 11 percent are still thinking of someone else and 3 percent are still thinking about their work.

Can't switch off during sex? This helps

If you find that your thoughts are distracting you during sex, there are a few things you can do to counteract this. First of all, let me tell you: It is completely human not to always be on the ball. So don't put yourself under pressure! There are so many things that influence us and are constantly buzzing around in our heads - including in bed.

morning sex

Maybe it will help you or you if you have fun right after getting up. Then the head is still empty and free from other thoughts, which often only accumulate during the course of the day.

No cell phone in sight

Make sure your cell phone isn't next to you during sex. It's best if you banish it from the room right away. Otherwise you subconsciously always have the feeling that you have to be constantly available. You might even get a call or text right now and that's it from just focusing on sex.

Look your partner in the eye

Eye contact can make such a big difference in sex. If you look your partner in the eye (all the time), your thoughts will automatically go to that person. You feel much more present in the situation and your mind doesn't wander as quickly.

If you have trouble really switching off during sex, you can implement one of the tips mentioned. Maybe it helps you! But don't put yourself under any pressure and talk to your partner about your thoughts.
